For the first time in three years, public opinion in Finland has swung in opposition to the European Union

According to a poll commissioned by the daily Aamulehti, 46 percent of Finns would now vote against EU membership. 43 percent are still in favour. The margin of error is plus or minus 2.5 percentage points.

The figures represent a drop in support for EU membership by nine percentage points since March.
