"manifesto pledges are not subject to legitimate expectation"

When your local politician comes and knocks on your door asking for your support at the next general election. Kick him in the nuts, poke him in the eye and tell him to go away in jerky movements.

The arsehole will probably have stood their and said he will make your life better because what he is promising is in his parties manifesto and if elected will deliver these promisees.

Well, if he is a labour party candidate he has probably told you a blatant lie and deserves a good kicking, in fact if you live in a muslim community a stoning

Gordon Brown through his barrister told a court in Brighton today "manifesto pledges are not subject to legitimate expectation"

So be warned Gordon, encouraging your lackeys to knock on my door is not subject to a civilised response.

I will use the BBC's Nigel Wrench defence "it was just boisterous horseplay"
.
