I have a dream

Today Gordon Brown is blaming the results of the local elections on global economic turbulence rather than his leadership.

He says he can lead the Labour Party to victory despite the disastrous results.

"It's not been the best weekend,'' Brown said today in an interview on the BBC Andrew Marr show. "Of course we can recover, first of all by sorting out the immediate problems in the economy, second by showing we have the vision for the future.''

He also said he would set out his draft legislative plan in the next few weeks.
