When Lloyds bought HBOS it was not able to look properly at HBOS's books to find out where the problems really lay (due diligence). Now those problems are coming home to roost – not just for Lloyds shareholders, but for the Government that blessed the takeover an us the TAX payer who will have to pay for all of this.
