Brown Exits the Bunker

It would appear that Gordon Brown has survived yet another leadership challenge by members of the Labour party after party members rallied around him.

Six cabinet members, believed to be sympathetic to a Putsch against Brown, issued statements late last night, embracing Brown's role as head of the Labour party.

David Miliband was among the last Cabinet members to come forward to back Brown.

One irate ex-minister observed, the bid to oust Gordon Brown was “something of a pantomime with Geoff Hoon as the front end of the horse”.
